Mark Your Calendar
One of the questions we get pretty frequently in our office is, “When should my system be cleaned.” The answer is pretty straightforward, but there are few other components you may be overlooking.
Your heating system should be cleaned and inspected once a year. It can be done any time of the year. We recommend service any time before it gets really cold, just so you know it’s ready when you need it.
If you have a furnace, make sure to check your air filters once per season to get an idea of how frequenly they should be changed.
Your A/C should be checked once a year as well. The outside temperature should be a fairly consistent 70 degrees so that the mechanic’s gauges can get accurate readings. Once your A/C is up and running for the season, make sure to check your air filter about halfway through the season.
Did you know you should flush your hot water heater every few years? Every three years or so should do it. This will remove any mineral deposits that settle in the bottom of the tank. This buildup makes heating water less efficient, so it’s a good idea to clean it out and start fresh every so often.
If you have any questions, or would like to schedule a service, give us a call at the office (609)896-0141. It’s not too late to tune up your heater for the season- you never know when we’re going to get one of those late season snow storms!
